Middle Atlantic Power Manager Installation Guide
This guide illustrates all steps during installation ,and gives you a fast way to complete Middle Atlantic Power Manager installation and start to use this software.
Installation Steps
The Middle Atlantic Power Manager family currently consists of two individual members identified as follows:
- Master: It serves to monitor the status of and configure the UPS, and generates actions in response to events. Master must be installed on a computer that directly connects to the UPS by USB or serial.
- Slave: It Establishes the communication with Master and generate actions in response to notification from Master. Slave must be installed on each computer that is controlled by Master.

Step 1. The first screen is the welcome screen. Click the Next button to continue.
Step 2. Choose where to install at the Destination Directory Screen.
Step 3. Choose one component to install in the Select Components Screen. To click
will display a description of the selected component. ( Note: The components here are mutualy exclusive. Only install one component on any computer. )
Step 4. Choose the destination folder for the Middle Atlantic Power Manager shortcut at the Select Start Menu Folder Screen.
Step 5. Setup necessary service at the Select Additional Tasks Screen ( Note: The options will show if services are not yet activated.)
- Enable Hibernate: When a power event occurs, Middle Atlantic Power Manager asks your computer to enter hibernation to prevent data loss or crash. (Note: Hibernation is a state in which your computer shuts down after saving to your hard disk. When your computer wakes up from hibernation, all programs and documents that were open are restored. )
- Enable Messenger: When a power event occurs, messenger provides the ability for Middle Atlantic Power Manager to notify selected users and computers. (Note: Messenger is a service that sends and receives messages sent by administrator).
Note: This screen will be skipped if these services have been activated.
Step 5. Click Finish button to complete the installation.
Getting Started
You can select Start >> Programs >> Middle Atlantic Power Manager >> Master/Slave for local use. You can also input http://127.0.0.1:7225/ in address field of web browser.
- Users can assign Master's IP in Slave to establish communication with Master and get information and notification from Master. Select Power System >> Location page in Slave and assign Master's IP to finish and register if you had installed Slave.
The following are strongly recommended after you get started using Middle Atlantic Power Manager:
- See Change the Username and Password to remove the default username and password and setup a new one.
- See Setup Phrase Key with Master and Slave to remove the default key and setup a matched new one.
Change the Username and Password
The default username is admin and default password is admin if this is the first time to use Middle Atlantic Power Manager. You can change both in the Login Information page in Middle Atlantic Power Manager Master or Slave. For security reasons, we recommend you to change it.
Setup Phrase Key with Master and Slave
The default phrase key is encryption.key. You can set a new one in Connected System >> Identification page of Middle Atlantic Power Manager Master and Connected System page of Middle Atlantic Power Manager Slave. The key set in Master and Slave must be matched, and otherwise Slave can't establish communication with Master. For security reason, we recommend you change it.
